They will be sharing the responsibilities and exciting opportunities that only an Artistic Director gets to experience.

We welcome them both, each experienced in many facets of the theater from directing to acting to writing to lights to… well you get the idea. Ray has been our acting Artistic Director for the past two months, and we aare delighted that he has agreed to 'offcially' step into the position with Paul.

Welcome, gentlemen! We eagerly look forward to working with you both.

Richard Morley was one of the pioneers of HART, not only as one of the founding members but he spent many long hours both performing and directing here since the early 1990's. Among his favorite roles were Professor Christopher Riley in Shadowlands, the story of C.S. Lewis; Dr. John Buchanan Sr. in Summer and Smoke; and Gardner Church in Painting Churches. In recent years he directed HART's productions of Night of January 16th and The Front Page. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Joan. He told us he was retired (again) from theater, but that On Golden Pond (in his words, a wonderful play) drew him back – to that other love in his life.

Richard was fatally injured in a traffic accident on July 21, 2011.  

Farewell, dear friend. You will be missed as not only a witty, entertaining and gentle man, but as "one hell of an actor" and director whom we are honored to have known.

A memorial service will be held at Young's Funeral Home, 11831 SW Pacific Hwy, Tigard, OR 97223, on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 11:00am followed by an outdoor reception at 6630 SW Ventura Drive, Tigard, OR.
