Joe Wiegand entertains audiences nationwide with his reprisal of President Theodore Roosevelt. As a one-man theater show, Wiegand, as Teddy Roosevelt, shares stories full of adventure, laughter and inspiration.

Join the Washington County Museum for Teddy Roosevelt’s Oregon Roadshow on Friday, May 11, for a one-of-a-kind presentation of the life and personality of the 26th president of the United States. Teddy Roosevelt’s Oregon Roadshow is sponsored by the Oregon Historical Society and Wells Fargo Bank.

Enjoy Teddy Roosevelt’s adventures as a rancher, Rough Rider and father of six in the White House. Relive the establishment of America's great national parks, forests, monuments and wildlife reserves.

Hear the amazing stories of the frail young boy who built his body and dedicated himself to the Vigorous Life and the Square Deal. From bear hunts to the Panama Canal, from Africa to the Amazon, Wiegand brings Teddy Roosevelt’s delightful stories to life.

“So many of T.R.’s contemporaries testify to the way he entertained audiences with inspirational and humorous stories from his youth, his ranching days, Cuba and the Presidency,” says Wiegand. “I really enjoy sharing T.R.’s funny stories of life in the White House with six kids and telling anecdotes from his many adventures.”

The show is at HART Theatre, 185 SE Washington St., in downtown Hillsboro. Doors open at 6 p.m. for socializing and refreshments. The show begins at 7 p.m., followed by a discussion with Mr. Wiegand for those who would like to stay. Concessions, including beer and wine, will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $20 per person, $15 each for Museum members. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

It’s a new start for HART with the announcement of our 2012/13 season at our
Auction on Saturday, April 28th at the Walters Cultural Arts Center. We are so
excited by the direction the theatre is taking, offering new works as well as the
familiar, expanding our commitment to our local playwrights, directors and actors
to bring you a marvelous year of theatre.

The only thing I can reveal is that next season is “Director’s Choice” and
throughout the year you will have an opportunity to hear from our directors about
what inspires them. We are so fortunate to have directors who want to work with
HART, some returning, some for the first time, and they are as excited as we are
to be bringing you plays to which they are committed, and about which they are
passionate.

Our new Co-Artistic Director, Paul Roder, has worked with Ray Hale, who
was AD this season, to bring you theatre that delights, and inspires, and even
challenges the imagination. This is a season you definitely don’t want to miss.
And once we make our announcement, season tickets will go on sale. How good
is that?

We are launching the 2012/13 season at our Auction to make it the kind of event
you are definitely not going to want to miss. With the theme of “It’s all Greek…”
we will entice you with wonderful catered food and wine, a Greek comedy,
adapted by Paul Roder and myself, a silent auction and paddle raise for fantastic
items, such as a 3-day beach house weekend, a helicopter ride, a dock party
and boat trip, wine tasting—all for the good cause of supporting your community
theatre.

So buy a couple of tickets and have a great time with us as we wine and dine
and laugh our way through our Greek evening. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m.
and tickets are available online or through the office.

Ray has been our acting Artistic Director for the past two months, and we are delighted that he has agreed to 'officially' step into the position. Paul, who you may recognize from It's A Wonderful Life: A Radio Play this past November.
